The Record

Methodology

Every pick is timestamped before the event. Its closing line is the median of the available Australian bookmakers’ prices for that exact market at the close, captured automatically from our odds provider in the final minutes before the event starts — never entered by hand where a market is covered. We record how many books fed each median so the sample size behind every closing price is auditable. Closing-line value (CLV) is then (price taken ÷ closing price − 1), expressed as a percentage: positive means the pick beat the market’s closing number. Where a market isn’t covered by the provider, the close is entered manually and marked with a on the record — always disclosed, never silent. Losing picks are shown in full; nothing is removed after the fact.
